Doitplenoptic selected as one of the most promising startups in Europe

Great news for our company! Our company applied for X-Europe program a few weeks ago. And guess what, we have been selected!

This program is funded by the EU inside the Startup Europe initiative. X-Europe aims to foster the growth of the leading European deeptech startups by providing top-notch training and services, and guiding partnerships with investors, corporations, and governments. The program is delivered by five leaders in the startup community – F6S, TNW, Design Terminal, Growth Tribe, and TechChill.

X-Europe’s first cohort is focused on HealthTech and BioTech and only 27 startups (check the list) among 177 applicants have been selected as the most promising deeptech startups. We are very honored to participate in this adventure. X-Europe will help us to connect with ecosystems across Europe and allow companies, investors, and other stakeholders to get to know Doitplenoptic. We are really happy to be part of this amazing opportunity that will combine efforts of different European regions to unleash the enormous potential of Europeans in deeptech and entrepreneurship. 

Deeptech in Europe

Europe has demonstrated that it is one of the leading regions in scientific production and R&D expenditure.

According to UNESCO, Europe is the leading region in research and development expenditure in relation to its GDP. Nine countries among the top 15 spenders in R&D globally are European: Finland 4th position, Switzerland 5th, Austria 6th, Sweden 7th, Denmark 8th, Germany 9th, Slovenia 11th, Belgium 12th and France 13th.

Europe has been building its future towards a knowledge-based economy in the last decades. Horizon 2020 is a clear example of the commitment of the European Union to foster new scientific discoveries and industrial breakthroughs that are transforming the region’s economy and society. Nearly 80 billion euros of public resources have been deployed since 2014. This has encouraged also huge private investments in deeptech and generated numerous innovation opportunities.
