Mónica has recently joined our company as a Software Engineering Intern while she finishes her Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition, and Digital Image at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. She obtained the prestigious “Fundación Carolina” scholarship to study the Master’s degree. Previously she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the University of La Havana (Cuba) with her work about “Image Segmentation in Digital Mammography using Spectral Techniques”. Her work proposes a strategy of segmentation of digital mammography images based on spectral techniques. Superpixels are introduced to reduce the image dimensions without compromising the quality of the segmentation. Also, she is studying the course “Data definition and manipulation” at the Seneca Insitute.
Before moving to Spain, Mónica has worked as Data Scientist in Cuba for 3 years doing malware analysis in the Android Operating System and the development of generic algorithms for its identification. She has a solid knowledge of different programming languages and computing skills such as C++, Python, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, Keras, Image Processing, Machine learning, Computer Vision, Visual Studio, Convolutional Neural Networks, Tensorflow,…
At Doitplenoptic she will contribute among others developing algorithms for the reconstruction and visualization of 3D images, also for the graphic representation of 3D images. She will support the R&D team with UX/UI development.
